The core barrel roller bit welding method is divided into three steps: 1. cutting, 2. positioning, 3. welding.
- Cut a suitable roller drill bit fixing port.
The width of the opening of the roller drill barrel wall should be just enough to put the roller drill bit body in. Do not leave too much gap. The depth of the opening of the barrel wall should ensure that the roller after welding is exposed to the barrel wall by about 1/2 to 2/3 of the wheel height. Chamfer the top of the barrel wall on both sides of the roller drill wheel. (Refer to the schematic diagram)
- Spot welding to adjust the angle and section size of the roller drill bit.
- The installation sequence of the roller drill bit follows the principle of alternating positive and negative. The distance between the roller drill bits should be consistent.
- Keep the height of all roller drill bits the same and the wheels of the roller drill bits on the same circumference.
- The angle of welding the roller drill bit should be 3-5 degrees, and the general welding angle is 5 degrees outside and 3 degrees inside. The distance from the outermost point of the outer roller drill bit to the innermost point of the inner roller drill bit is 120mm-140mm, that is, the width of the annular section is between 120mm-140mm.
- The position of the roller drill bit should be fixed evenly and gently during welding.
- After spot welding, weld and reinforce in turns.
When welding, the wheel of the roller drill bit should be immersed in water as much as possible. Welding on site can be cooled by a combination of running water and wet cloth wrapping. Focus on cooling the joint between the roller drill bit wheel and the roller drill bit body. Avoid high temperature causing failure of the sealing ring or bearing lubrication system.
Stop welding when the roller drill bit feels slightly hot, and weld again after cooling, and weld in multiple times. The welding process must be kept cool with running water.
A good roller bit welding method can improve work efficiency. The core barrel roller bit welding angle is also a factor that affects the service life of the roller bit.
